Achieves improved patient care outcomes and lower costs for Houston and South Texas communities
HOUSTON, TX – (September 15, 2020) – Privia Medical Group–Gulf Coast announced that its accountable care organization (ACO), Privia Quality Network–Gulf Coast, achieved more than $5.3 million in shared savings through the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP). The Privia Quality Network–Gulf Coast ACO improved the health of patients throughout the Houston and surrounding region, providing care to more than 9,000 Medicare beneficiaries in 2019.
Through its focus on population health and quality care improvement efforts, the ACO received a 92% quality score. The ACO also achieved 2019 outpatient facility spend 13% below the median ACO, and ER utilization 11% below the median ACO.
These accomplishments demonstrate Privia Quality Network–Gulf Coast’s ongoing dedication to give patients exceptional care while also reducing avoidable expenses. The physician-led ACO delivers personalized care to ensure that patients receive the right interventions at the right time while emphasizing the importance of prevention.
“We’re extremely proud of our physicians, care teams, and staff for continuing to positively impact the lives of patients and families in our communities” said Mark Cone, M.D., President of Privia Medical Group–Gulf Coast. “Our collaborative efforts, combined with proprietary tools and technology, enable our medical group to provide high-quality, cost-efficient and convenient care while focusing on wellness efforts in and outside the doctor’s office.”
“Our success in the Medicare Shared Savings Program reflects the ongoing commitment of our physician leaders to transform the healthcare delivery experience throughout the journey to value-based models,” said Keith Fernandez, M.D., Chief Clinical Officer of Privia Health. “These results demonstrate our commitment to arm providers with the resources needed to help prevent disease, manage chronic conditions, and help their patients achieve better health.”
Privia Quality Network–Gulf Coast’s parent company, Privia Health (Privia), also supports successful ACOs in Georgia, the Mid Atlantic, and North Texas. All four regions in the Privia Quality Network deliver the highest standard of care, creating shared savings of more than $57 million for MSSP in 2019.
