Performance results demonstrate continued success in care management, including a 15.3% reduction in Inpatient utilization
FORT WORTH, TX – (September 30, 2019) – Privia Medical Group–North Texas announced that its accountable care organization (ACO), Privia Quality Network–Central Texas, continues to make significant improvements in the quality of care for more than 8,000 Medicare beneficiaries while also making a positive impact on the cost of that care.
In 2018, the ACO achieved nearly $5 million in shared savings through the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) and received an above average quality score of 93%. The performance results show that the providers in the ACO helped reduce inpatient stays by 15.3% and reduced inpatient costs by 6.1%, compared to their benchmark year.
These achievements confirm Privia Quality Network–Central Texas’ commitment to improving outcomes, enhancing the patient experience, and reducing expenses to provide high-quality, cost-efficient healthcare options.
“Our results are a true testament to the dedication of our physicians and care teams—their focus allows us to integrate care, manage risk and improve quality while reducing overall spending,” says Larry Tatum, M.D., CEO of Privia Medical Group–North Texas. “Our goal is to continue to maintain a top-tier care standard for our beneficiaries by equipping our independent physicians with the tools needed to remain autonomous while improving the health of patients and our communities.”
Privia Quality Network–Central Texas’ parent company, Privia Health (Privia), also supports successful ACOs in Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, Washington and the Gulf Coast. Each ACO in the Privia Quality Network delivers the highest standard of care, creating shared savings of more than $70 million for MSSP in 2018. Since Privia’s inception into the MSSP in 2014, providers in the ACOs have generated a cumulative savings of more than $137 million.
